When you see virtually every news outlet mentioning the notion of New Years Resolutions, it might make you think of what you can personally accomplish this year. If you’ve decided to implement some changes for 2015, staying organized is vital to keeping your New Years Resolutions. From agendas to apps, here are three surprisingly simple tactics for staying on track in 2015.
Make small goals. Instead of creating unattainable goals just because they sound good, try to think realistically by brainstorming small, reachable objectives. As you accomplish them, slowly increase your goals every few months. To stay motivated, invest in a chic planner to write down your thoughts, plans and progress every day. Lily Pulitzer, Kate Spade and Tory Burch have chic and functional agendas for you to love.
Find your focus. There are several common resolutions to choose, like cutting down on drinking, losing weight or reaching a career milestone. And even though enacting several changes may sound tempting, initially focus on a singular goal. Discuss this first resolution with friends, family or coworkers to make you liable. Sometimes, the most powerful agent of change is the encouragement of those around you.
Get the right tools. No matter what your resolution is, apps like Evernote, Mint and Human are invaluable. Evernote organizes your notes in one place and seamlessly syncs to all of your devices. Mint allows you to track your financial accounts in one place, create budgets and assess your net worth. Lastly, Human is a simple way to track 30 minutes of exercise a day, whether walking, biking, running or even dancing. All you need to do is put your phone in your pocket, and the app tracks your movement. When you’re organized, accountable and prepared for your goals, nothing can hold you back. Cheers to a successful 2015!
