With the food industry being so competitive in New York City, it is important for new restaurant owners to come into the business with a unique flare. Two Forks does just that. The eatery brings its own spin of fast-causal dinning. The LCNY team stopped by on opening day to see everything they had to offer. The owner and chef, Michael Kaplan, was gracious enough to show us his around Two Forks and what they are all about. They’re slogan “Cooked Slow, Pulled Fast” is the motto they live by when it comes to preparing food. They source their meat and ingredients from farms who pride themselves on clean growing practices. We had the opportunity to try out two different bowls, juices, and a side treat, and we were not disappointed with the results!
They’re menu is styled as a build your own, so you can create your own unique dish. Customers can choose from a bowl or bun, their meat and veggies, or go completely vegetarian. Pick out a sauce that would best suit you dish. Side note about the sauces, Two Forks creates all of them in small batches and in-house, so you know its fresh! Add a slaw, and some toppings and your ready to eat. If you get a little overwhelmed and are unsure what to get, Two Fork’s has signature bowls and buns to choose from.
We ordered two bowls, one with slow cooked beef and the other with lamb. Bowls contain jasmine rice, smashed chickpeas, roasted veggies and greens as a base. Both were equally delicious! You can tell just how much care they take into cooking the meat when you take a bite. It was so tender and juicy and filled with flavor.
While you are there, pick up one of their homemade fresh juices. We tried Water Mellonade and Pear’d Up, both were refreshing as they were tasty!
