DIY Make Up Holders

By : ,

Everyone loves a good DIY project, especially if it easy and inexpensive. Well the LCNY team found one that’s quick, easy and useful.  If you don’t know what to do with all those glass candle holders piling up in your room, we found a perfect use for them.  Repurpose those glasses into makeup holders.

What You’ll Need:

  • Used candles glasses
  • A knife (preferably a butter or dull one), scraper or anything to scoop
  • A Brillo pad or rough sponge

Step 1:

After finding candle glasses you want to use, take your knife, scooper and start scraping out the wax left at the bottom.  If your using a knife that is a bit sharper, be careful not to go too fast to prevent injury. You should be able to get most of the wax out.

Step 2:

Now with your Brillo or rough side of the sponge, take some water and dish soap and scrape out the left over wax.  The soap should help make it easier and you’ll be cleaning it at the same time.  One problem we had was getting the wick holder out because it was glued to the bottom.  If your having the same problem, use your knife to get it loose.

Step 3:

Now that your glass is clean, all there is left to do is place your makeup in them.  These repurposed candle holders are great for makeup brushes, eyeliners, and you have a small glass, lipstick fits great.

This project is a great way to save money on makeup organizers and it’s also a unique way to decorate your place.  We put makeup in ours but you could easily use them as utensil holder or even keeping little plants.
